2D Animation Services for Global Brands

Drawn, designed and animated in-house — 2D that makes a complicated
idea obvious, whichever market you are speaking to.

Superpixel has been producing 2D animation since 2015, handled end to end by one in-house team — writing, design, storyboard, animation, sound and the final master. Brands we have animated for include Changi Airport Group, TikTok, BytePlus CBN and Mount Elizabeth Hospital.

What 2D Animation Does
That Filming Cannot

A camera can only record what already exists. Drawing gets around that — an abstract idea, an internal process, a service with nothing physical to point at, a product still in development. Because every frame is designed rather than captured, the look becomes a decision you make: illustration style, palette, pacing and tone can all be pulled toward your identity instead of toward whatever a location and a lens happened to allow.

That range is why 2D keeps earning its place across campaign films, product and service explainers, training and education pieces, report and data storytelling, social cutdowns and internal communication. The work is produced across four offices — Vancouver, Melbourne, Singapore and Jakarta — and delivered remotely wherever a brand is based, so our working hours overlap with most of the markets we produce for.

  • Draws what a camera cannot reach — concepts, processes, unbuilt products
  • Style built around your identity, not around a location and a lens
  • In-house from script to final master, across four offices and time zones

What We Offer in 2D Animation

Four directions the same discipline can take. Which one fits depends on the job the film has to do —
make something clear, make a number land, give the brand a face, or carry a feeling.

FAQ

Questions we often get

Some briefs arrive as a deck, some as two paragraphs in an email, and some as a locked script. All three are workable. Where nothing is written yet, we start at concept and carry it through storyboard and style frames; where the copy is already signed off, we begin at the board. Voice, music and sound design are planned at this same stage rather than added once the picture is finished. Animation only starts once the frames are approved, since revisions there cost far less than revisions later.

Yes, and it is worth deciding before production rather than after. Masters are built so voiceover, on-screen text and subtitles can be swapped per market, and so the same production yields vertical and square crops, cutdowns, silent-friendly edits and looping GIFs. Tell us which markets and platforms are in scope at briefing stage and the deliverable list gets specced around them.

Run time is the obvious lever, but scene count, illustration complexity, whether characters have to be designed and rigged, how many review rounds you need and how many final versions you want all move the figure more than length alone. A single explainer built in an existing visual system sits well below an original character series. Share the brief and the deadline, and you get a scoped range written against your actual requirements.

Production sits across four offices, so a project is scheduled against your working day rather than ours. Briefings, reviews and approvals run over shared documents and booked calls, with one producer as your point of contact so you are never chasing four teams. Paperwork — contracts, NDAs, invoicing — is handled remotely wherever your entity is registered.

A straightforward explainer runs in weeks. What extends a schedule is design: character design and rigging, bespoke illustration and multi-asset sets all add build time before a single frame moves. Approvals set the rest — once script and style frames are signed off, the remaining stages are predictable. Give us the launch date and the plan is built backwards from it.

That is set out in the agreement before production starts rather than negotiated at delivery. Final masters are supplied in the formats and codecs you specify, and working files — artwork, rigs and animation scenes — can be included in the handover where another team may need to pick the work up later. Any fonts, stock or licensed music carry their own terms, and those are listed with the delivery so nothing gets used outside them.
